DESCRIPTION :

Kastros is on the small hill, end of the Cape Andreas. The settlement is at the southern part of the hill which is protected from northerly winds.

Kastros is a small settlement, it consisted of small round houses, with a diameter of less than 3m. Some of them were round a common courtyard, and some built into platforms in the hillside

The finds – fish bones, sea-shells and fishing implements show that the main economic activity was fishing. The obsidian artefacts have led archaeologists to think that they were either from Anatolia or has connections with Anatolia

 

 

 Period : Neolithic (6000 – 5800 BC) and Chalcolithic period.
