DESCRIPTION :

Coming after the simple classical type (17th century) , there is a second type of mosque, very simple in plan, being in essence a rectangular building with a portico outside the late comers. The interior space is spanned by two or more arches to support the roof. Most of these mosques date to the 19th century and are unique to Cyprus. In Nicosia the Turunçlu Mosque and the Iplik Pazari Mosque are good examples.
